ANIMATIONS

Similar to a cartoon, an animation is a series of pictures displayed rapidly to give the illusion of motion.  Animated graphics are mostly used for websites and must be used sparingly to maintain a quick loading website. Too many animations on your website can cause increased loading times and too many animations may also be distracting to your visitors.

Users of AOL Instant Messenger® may be familiar with Buddy Icons. These Buddy Icons are simple animations a person can acquire that are displayed in the users chat window.  Buddy Icons can be a great way to promote your product or service. Banner Ads can also be animated. Place a banner on someone else's web page to market your products.

FLASH

Complex menus and large ads may be designed in Flash. Flash's compression ratios are more efficient than that of a GIF image, allowing more complex movies in a smaller file. Flash movies are perfect for advertisements, website menus, website intro pages, and more.
